2.5.1. Full CIC membrane quantification with cell counting software
A GC count for each CIC membrane was determined by summing the GC counts from all 25 images acquired with the aid of ImageJ (Schneider and Rasband, 2012) and the Cell Counter plugin (De Vos, 2010). The GCD was determined by dividing the GC count by 12 mm² (25 images x 0.48 mm² per image). This method served as the reference for comparison.
